Illustrating the concept of "bringing the coasts closer" the visual strategy was to juxtapose icons of the west coast with icons of the east coast with a body of water and a train being the only thing standing in between the two. This was accomplished by blending two images of the east coast(a NY skyline, and the statue of liberty), a west coast image( the Hollywood sign), a train driving through a countryside, and a large body of water. Part one of this ad uses a calm body of water reminiscent of the settled East coast bodies of water such as the Hudson, Potomac, or even Connecticut rivers.
